可塑剤、ソフビ、ブレードランナーと電気羊

「ソフビ人形は電気羊の夢を見るか？ - Do Sofubi Dream of Electric Sheep?」 166mm x 80mm x 49mm, December 2024.
およそ一年前、ソフビ界の雄・ゴッコ堂とのコラボレーションという名誉を受け、初めてソフビにタトゥを施しました。
ソフビ素材に含まれる可塑剤と、私がタトゥに使用する技法との相性が未知数だったため、多数の実験と経年変化の検証を重ね、ようやく今夏の神戸と東京での発表に至った経緯がありました。

金髪にふんどし姿の気合田くんを見た瞬間、映画『ブレードランナー』のレプリカント、ロイ・バティを思いました。
フォークト＝カンプフ検査装置、ロイが放つ鳩、彼の名セリフ、タイレル社のスローガンやフクロウ、デッカードのブラスター…
イメージも一瞬で頭に浮かびました：

「フォークト＝カンプフ検査の結果、あなたはソフビ人形だ。目は嘘をつかない。あなたの目があなたを裏切っている。」
「オレがソフビだと？何を言ってる？昨日だって電気羊の夢を見たんだ。オレは人間だ・・・よな？」

About a year ago, I had the honor of collaborating with Goccodo, a leading name in the sofubi world,
and created my first sofubi figure adorned with tattoos.
Because the interaction between the plasticizers in sofubi and my tattooing method was uncertain,
I conducted numerous tests and long-term observations before finally presenting the work
in Kobe and Tokyo this summer.

When I first saw Kiaida-kun―blond-haired and wearing a loincloth―I immediately thought of Roy Batty, the replicant from Blade Runner.
The Voight-Kampff machine, the dove Roy releases, his final words, Tyrell Corporation’s slogan, the owl, and Deckard’s blaster―
these images connected instantly and shaped the design.

“Voight-Kampff test result: you are a sofubi. Eyes never lie―your own eyes have betrayed you.”
“Me, a sofubi? What are you talking about? I dreamed of electric sheep just last night. I’m human… aren’t I?”
