酸に長く浸ければそれだけ溝も深くなり見応えがあるのですが、マスキング面も溶かしかねず、金属の種類や特性、酸の純度によって溶解度も全く違うため、加減が非常に困難であり、最後の研磨作業を終えるまで結果が分かりません。
しかし作業の行程で予期せぬ偶発性による思わぬ美しい結果が生まれることがあります。それはそれで嬉しいのですが、「美」を生む際に偶発性に頼っているレベルでは私もまだまだ修羅が足りぬ、とも思います。
そんなことを思いながら、部屋中に充満している溶けた鉄の匂いがしなくなるまで、私は不快なガスマスクを付けっぱなしでNetflixをしばらく見るのでした。

With such thoughts in mind, I continue wearing an uncomfortable gas mask until the scent of dissolved iron no longer permeates the room, indulging in Netflix for a while.
