RIP Makoto Ayukawa

Makoto Ayukawa has passed away. Slim and tall, he had a black Les Paul and Marshall stack, and his black-framed glasses were reminiscent of Buddy Holly or Elvis Costello.

In the mid-80s, during Sheena & The Rokkets' period when Sheena took maternity leave, they released the song 'Rock Is Alright.' I first saw Makoto when he came out in front of the audience before The RC Successions' performance at Seibu Dome in '84, man, I was smashed.

A long time ago, I heard that he saw The Ramones' stage and rushed to the music store with Sheena right after to change all his amps to Marshall. Makoto, please rest in peace. Join Sheena and take your time.
